Assisted Living Technologies...

This industry focuses on products for the improvement of the quality of life. Whether it's surgical screws or stairlifts, these products are designed and manufactured to improve life for the relevant people, which MCS finds extremely rewarding.

To cater for the increasing workload in this market and ensure specialism, MCS launched sister company 'MCS Medical' in 2004.

Since the launch of MCS Medical, the company has grown from strength to strength within this industry. Following the launch, MCS won the tender for a leading stairlift manufacturer, who were drawn to MCS' ability to produce quality, complex components and crucially their flexible lead times via a Kanban system which suited this manufacturer.

MCS' involvement in this market does not stop here. MCS helped a local inventor develop his idea which was a hydraulic door opener that was operated by a wall mounted switch, improving accessibility for those in a wheelchair, and to assist other organisations who had a new law looming which stated that all public buildings must be accessible by those in a wheelchair; the Disability Discrimination Act (2005). The designer had struggled for two years to find an organisation that could help him get his ideas from the paper and into production; it was the team at MCS who enabled this dream to become a reality and the product consequently went into mass production.

By acquiring a fleet of Tornos Decos, MCS are able to produce the most minute of components to incredible tolerances. This has meant that MCS are able to produce miniscule components like screws and dental equipment for the medical industry.
